Team-Thinking in LMS Training

In an LMS training program, staff members are often asked to work together in teams to come up with ideas, develop strategies, carry out individual tasks and roles, and produce reports.

Most people have seen the corporate art poster which reads: “Teamwork: None of us is as smart as all of us.” Some of us with a dryer sense of humor have also chuckled at posters with the same image of all the hands in the center, symbolizing group unity and respect, one on top of the other, which reads: “Teamwork: None of us is as dumb as all of us.”

Joking aside, which slogan is more accurate? In a training program, are teams worth creating and maintaining?

Studies show that when a well-developed structure and a clear plan exist, training teams prove effective. When created and maintained by an LMS training tool or experienced trainer, the advantages of teams in training programs outweigh the negatives.

Each person is born with a set of talents and throughout his or her life, builds certain skills. Each person has a unique set of skills and talents to offer. Experienced leaders and teachers have always tapped into this fact.

Nevertheless, despite the increasing popularity of teams in the corporate world, managers continue to encourage competitive work environments.

Too often, managers themselves still maintain a competitive work ethic, making it difficult or impossible for them to encourage teamwork. But when teams are maintained and coached with confidence in their power, a good team experience produces a happy staff. And as everyone knows, a content and energized staff is a productive one.The opposite is also true–bad team experiences can produce a conflicted and unproductive staff.

LMS training is one effective tool in aiding both managers and staff organize assignments and goals within a team.

Faster And Quicker Way To Learn Spanish

Spanish originated in the northern part of Spain. It then spread to the Kingdom of Castile. Spanish is also known as Castilian. The language spread to the Americas, Africa and Asia Pacific region along with the expansion of the Spanish Empire. This was during the period between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries. Spanish is now one of the official languages of the United Nations, the Organization of American States, the European Union, the African Union, the Organization of Ibero-American States, the Latin Union, the Union of South American Union, the North American Free Trade Agreement and the Caricom. It is also the official language or one of the official languages of the countries of Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, Peru, Paraguay, Venezuela and Uruguay besides the U.S, Puerto Rico, Equatorial Guinea and Spain.

There are many reasons why Spanish is becoming more popular. Economic activities that are linked to Spanish speaking countries are major reasons. This includes trade and tourism. Increase in the popularity of Spanish is visible in Portugal, Brazil, Italy, France and the United States.

There is an increased interest in learning Spanish. They want to learn the more functional language that can make sure that they are effectively able to communicate with Spanish speaking people with whom they have to deal with in ordinary day to day life. There are a number of down loadable programs for easy and faster learning of Spanish. Rosetta Stone is a Spanish speaking course that is available as an e-book. Rosetta stone review Spanish uses the technique of Dynamic Immersion that primarily associates images with words and phrases assisting a quicker and easier retention of what is learnt.

The learning gets off with a solid base with the association of pictures and other images with the words that one is learning. There is also the speech recognition system where you will get a feedback on your language speaking ability immediately. The program does not stress too much on grammar. The down loadable program can be checked out in the Internet. In contrast to the classical learning style of a language, this obviously is pleasantly different and effective.

Joking aside, which slogan is more accurate? Is teamwork a worthwhile activity in a training program–or in any educational context?

Studies show that when a well-developed structure and a clear plan exist, training teams prove effective. When carried out by an experienced trainer or aided by an LMS training program, the pluses of creating teams for training purposes outweigh the potential negatives.

Everyone is given different talents at birth, and cultivates a unique set of skills throughout his or her life. No one is just like anyone else. Strong leaders understand this, which is why teams are still used in many settings–especially educational ones.

However, in spite of the trendiness of teamwork promotion, oftentimes only weak or superficial efforts are made to create trusting and effective teams.

Too often, managers themselves still maintain a competitive work ethic, making it difficult or impossible for them to encourage teamwork. But when teams are guided and maintained with good faith, efficient teamwork effects a happy staff. And as everyone knows, a content and energized staff is a productive one. The opposite can also happen–a negative team experience yields a tense, unhappy and unproductive staff.

LMS training can help both managers and staff organize and maintain productive teams.

Why we should encourage our children to take part in arts and crafts

The merits of arts and crafts such as drawing and coloring  for kids are regularly argued by child development experts, educators and parents alike… especially so for the real impact they have on child development. However, it is difficult to argue with the top three reasons why we should all encourage the children in our care to  take part in arts and crafts.

Creativity – Ask anyone what the first personality characteristic arts and crafts develop in a young child and most will answer ‘creativity’. And they are certainly correct.  Everyone has natural talents and skills and it is possible to improve and boost them… even if you only have a little natural talent. Creativity enables your child to try out and profit from new
ideas, options and alternatives in any future career. Kids learn to do things in new ways and literally profiting from thinking “out of the box”.

Perseverance – Perseverance is perhaps the single most important quality for any successful individual – be they a a business person, sportsman or other professional.  In fact, most well-known breakthroughs in life have been attributed to perseverance alone. Arts and crafts improve everyone’s level of perseverance.  For instance, children learn to keep trying until they complete the task, be it a sculpture or a coloring in sheet. If something unexpected goes wrong… they are encouraged to persist by trying new ways and means and the pay-off is a wonderful piece of art that they have created.

Concentration – Similar to having perseverance, developing concentration is another quality well-worth having as an individual. Drawing, coloring, sculpting, painting and even doodling will definitely teach your child to focus on one  specific task at hand… ignoring other distractions. In short they overall concentration will definitely improve.

Even from a young age children can draw and color – so give them blank pieces of paper or coloring in sheets so that they can scribble away  to their hearts content whilst also improving their fine motor skills.

For example little girls  enjoy coloring images of princesses and fairies and at sites like Fairy Coloring Pages you’ll find the best fairy coloring book

Little boys on the other hand prefer pictures of cars, trucks and machinery – however, favorite characters such as those from Disney movies are also hits with little boys.

Give your child several opportunities to experience being creative, concentrating and perservering through the fun medium of arts and crafts. Provide them with materials and resources and the occasional canvas so that they can  be creative and feel pride in what they create.

8 powerful benefits of audio books to teaching

There's no denying the fact that most people hated reading as kids, only a few kids enjoy reading, especially if there is an alternative.

Audio books have now made it possible for children to get better access to materials that they don't like reading.

Obviously, children still need to read, this is very important but reading along side audiobooks make is so much more exciting.

Many schools have now taken audio books not just to the homes of their students but also in the classrooms.

It has been mentioned by the educational sector that audio books, when used in teaching, can even have more impact than convensional books for children that are just begining to learn to read or those with reading difficulties.

Below are 8 specific benefits of using audio books for students:

1. Using audio books to teach children in school gives them "variety", instead of just listening to their teacher, they benefit from the change that comes with "another" teacher.

2. There are specific audio books prepared with children in mind that are not only educative but very entertaining, these types of audio books make learning much more fun than normal teaching.

3. An audio book being played in the classroom will free up the teacher time, they can spend more time preparing exciting lessons and other tasks.

4. For children with reading difficulties, they can slowly follow the readings from audio books until it feels comfortable to read.

It's a very powerful way of improving learning skills as all children have to do is listen to an audio book while reading the printed words.

5. Audio books are actually a lot cheaper. Instead of buying dozens of books for a classroom, just one audio book can be played for all the students in the classroom.

6. Audio books that tell interesting stories are very helpful in times when the children would have become too tired to read and study.

Stories that children are very fond of will become so much more interesting.

7. Children don't particularly like printed books as they do audio books. A child can feel more 'at home' when they are 'told a story' rather than reading a book.

8. Having the word actually spoken to a child is a great advantage when learning how to pronounce words. It's a really good way of learning pronunciation, hearing the actual word spoken at the same time as seeing how it is spelt.

All in all, most children find it a great deal of fun listening to a lesson on audio, rather than having to read it. That is why children spend a lot of time watching movies, rather than reading.

No wonder more schools are embracing the technology of audio books for teaching their children.

Where do you listen to your audio books?

We have a lot to be grateful for when talking about technology.

Who would have ever believed that not only would we cut down on the way we use up our vegetation for making hardcover and paperback books, we would also be able to "listen" to our books instead of "reading" them.

Ironic? Not with the introduction of audio books.

With audio books, we now have the unique advantage of doing other things that take up our hands, but not our minds. We now have the freedom of doing what we want, while having the book read to us.

Audio book sales are increasing as more and more people are taking advantage of how wonderful they are to listen to.

If you have thought about buying audio books you will want to read the below suggestions

1. In bed - There are certain days when we just don't want to do anything but lie down in bed thinking of certain issues. Or we could just want to lie down in the dark until we fall asleep.

This is a great time to listen to an audio book. You wouldn't have to bother with putting on the lights, holding the book, flipping through the pages or the stress of reading the book itself.

With an audio book, the entire book will be read to you while you stay comfortable in bed - without flipping any pages, holding the book or putting on the lights.

2. In the kitchen while doing household chores such as washing the dishes or cooking. For some people it can be very boring being in the kitchen, especially washing the dishes or other such chores.

This is a brilliant time to listen to and love an audio book because your hands are busy but your mind is free.

Another, much better thing would be to listen to an audio book, this would crush all the negative thoughts.

3. In the garden while gardening - You can also listen to audio books while gardening. The audio book can make the gardening fun because you would be concentrating on the beauty of the audio book and not on the difficulty of gardening.

4. While exercising such as jogging - Exercising such as jogging leaves your mind open but your hands, legs and even your entire body busy. This is a brilliant time to listen to and love an audio book.

People can spend countless hours every week exercising while their mind wonder. But listening to an audio book during this time ensures you don't waste those times that you exercise.

This couldn't be a better example of killing 2 birds with one stone, a workout for your mind and body!

5. While travelling. Imagine how much time is spent sitting in a car, train, bus or especially on a plane. You see, many people loose a great deal of time doing nothing while commuting to and fro their jobs.

Why not use that time to listen to an audio book, especially one that develops your mind and/or improve your professional and business skills?

As an example, while listening to your favorite music is a lot of fun, just imagine how great it would be to be able to listen to an audio book that will actually improve your skills, this could be a benifit for your career.

6. In the air while traveling - You wouldn't believe it, but there are many people who spend more time in the air than on road. There are professional assignments that involve traveling from one state to the other, or even from one country to the other.

Just think how much of an amazing advantage it would be to spend this time listening to an audio book that would improve your professional skills.

Yes, there are many audio book courses made specifically for professionals to improve their skills in many areas of their professions.

How I learnt to speak French in 3 months from audio books

Of course, I was taught French during my school days but never took it seriously. As far as I was concerned, it wasn't important to be and would never be.

After all, English was more popular and I could get along anywhere in the world with my knowledge of English language, right?

How dead wrong I was.

I realized my mistake when I was sent to France for an assignment. I was like a real fish out of water.

Literally everywhere I went, restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, offices, transport - everyone was speaking French. Locating someone who could speak English was like locating someone in England who could speak Chinese.

Whew, I really felt lost.

That experience nonetheless, I still made a silent resolve not to learn the language, since I wasn't going to be coming back to France.

But on getting back home, my boss told me I would be going back in 3 months. Not only that, but this time I would be staying for much longer than the last time.

I argued, begged and pleaded, but she was having none of it.

Right that second I made the decision to make sure I had learned French before those three short months were over.

Being a lover of audio books, I went right ahead and bought some “Teach yourself French” foreign language audio books which I played while preparing for work in the morning, while exercising, during my commute to and from work and any other time when my hands were busy but my mind was free.

To be honest, I didn't really pay too much attention to the "Teach yourself French" lessons in the beginning, because it was all very strange to me.

But as time went on, it all started to make sense. What really helped was the translations to English for any word spoken in French.

It definitely confirmed the theory I had read some time ago about how powerful listening can really be. No wonder God gave us 2 ears and just one mouth. This means just listening is powerful enough to learn virtually any language.

You wouldn't believe it but gradually I picked up and was able to speak some amount of French just 6 weeks after.

Can you just imagine the look on my superior's face, when I spoke to her completely in French without even mixing it a little with English!

She couldn't believe it and asked me how I was able to do it. I told her - audio books!

My superior was so amazed and impressed that I had taken the time to learn the language, that she promoted me to the head of delegation for the next trip we had planned to France. I was going to represent our entire company.

She made sure every other member of my team got their foreign language audio books and did exactly what I had done.

When I eventually got back to France 3 months later, I was no longer "a fish out of water".

It was fantastic, and I was amazed that I had been able to do this without hiring a tutor, going to college or night school, or even reading any French tutorial books.

All of this was possible within 3 months just listening to French audio book lessons.

Do you know what was most intriguing about this? I did this all in my "free" time. There were no extra committments of time needed from me, I just used the same time that I had wasted in the past.

Now, if I could do this within just three months, I am absolutely certain that anyone else can do it too.

I can honestly say that if there is any foreign language that you are itching to learn, do exactly as I did and you'll be amazed by the results in just three months, simply from the power of audio books.

There are several audio book versions of many books on learning foreign languages that you can get on the Internet.

You can start your search from SpokenNetwork.com directly or via the search engines. You just need to type in the phrase or title of the book that you are interested in, and you'll be given a whole host of results… within seconds.
