Paul's Version of Planting

For my whole life I’ve loved being in the garden. When I was a small child I would spend countless hours in the dirt with my grandmother planting everything from cucumbers to corn. All summer I would spend the days of summer at my grandparent’s farm. I was really given two choices, work in the garden or study my spelling. It was simple in my mind because I loved being outside in the garden and didn’t like school at all.

So that leads me to where I am today, still spending all summer in the garden, just now it is my backyard instead of the farm. This year I though I would plant a mix of vegetables. I stared with corn, then cauliflower, and finally cucumber. That was the easy part. The plants needed water almost every day because the sun was shining and it was always hot and dry. I also had to get my husband to cut down a tree that was cutting off the sunshine. Really it was a lot of work for a small amount of veggies.

Weeding is my least favorite part of gardening. This summer is was a lot better because I went out and decided to garden shovels for sale. Having to move around on my knees all summer was not fun at all. Next year now that I think of it I might hire someone to come in every once in while and do it for me. All I need to do now is get my husband to pay for it.

Gardening tools make a big difference so I don’t know why people aren’t keener to buy gardening tools. If I had it my way the house would be filled with every little tool that anyone has ever thought up. Gardening is geat, but having the proper tools for the job makes it way more fun. Next time you are thinking of getting down and dirty, grab the right tool for the job and have fun!

Any garden, regardless of its size, shape or terrain, can be spruced up by adding some landscaping plants or trees. Before you decide to buy and cultivate an ivy vine, remember it may require a little time and effort for its training. In the beginning a small, young ivy plant may appear very tame. Very quickly the vine will be crawling in all directions if untrained, and grow several feet tall. If not constantly pruned and attended to, an ivy vine will usually crawl and attach itself to places other than where you intended for it to go.

For the purposes of beautifying your home and garden, the universal choice is flowers for landscaping plants. Flowers are available in all colors, designs and sizes, but the most important factor to consider in your choice is the kind of climate or season where they will thrive. Many flowers flourish in mild weather, but there are other varieties that prefer the colder, shadier places of the garden.

The recommended landscaping plants for places that have four definite seasons, are the hardy plant and flower varieties. These will be able to withstand the harsher weather patterns. These landscaping plants do not require too much special treatment either.

Landscaping may sound very simple, and it actually is, as long as you have all the necessary knowledge and tools to do the job.
