Achieve Your Dreams & Goals

Challenge Your Anxieties

Everyone has dreams of one sort or another, and most of us have dreams of living the good life, having an income that will let us spend quality time with our families and enjoy the finer things of life.

Past disappointments with other home businesses tend to make us hesitate when faced with new, better opportunities.  Because some of us are intimidated by the internet, we don’t go all out to realize our dreams of success with our internet businesses.

Change is everywhere, and nowhere more prevalent than in the internet marketing industry.  So how do we find the wisdom and the courage to take the next step on our journey to realizing our dreams?

Attitude Is Critical

Sir Winston Churchill once said, “Success is measured by your ability to maintain enthusiasm between failures.”

Every day my inbox is filled with advertisements for newer and better ways to perform internet marketing.  But which ones actually work, and more importantly, which ones will work for me?  Just like when buying a car, sometimes you just have to give it a test drive.

Success Personality

One Gallup organization in-depth study of the “success personality” explored the attitudes and traits of 1500 randomly selected individuals from Who’s Who in America. The three most significant traits they found were:

1) Common Sense – the ability to simplify a complex subject by getting to the core of what matters

2) Knowing One’s Field – first-hand knowledge as well as support from experienced coaches, and

3) Self-Reliance

Noted author, Brian Tracy, has stated, “All successful men and women are big dreamers. Winners work hard to realize their goals and dreams.”

Success Formula

If you want to achieve your dreams, apply the following success formula:

1) Determine your desired outcome(s)

2) Be proactive – meaning, do something!

3) Notice and feedback results

4) If the results are not what you want, change your strategy

For home business owners, the ability to maintain enthusiasm between failures (or more likely, between massive sales) will, indeed, separate the successful ones from the unsuccessful ones.

And one of the best ways to maintain your enthusiasm is to associate yourself with successful people – teachers, mentors and other gurus who’ve “been there and done that” and are already successful.

Goal Setting & Time Management

Time Management & Goal Setting Gear

While science is at its most advanced state nowadays, there remains to be a lot of things to juggle for a typical career-oriented individual. For most family-oriented persons, there is the burden of juggling work, career, family and other factors involved in one’s social life.

You can read more on Time Management & Goal Setting

The answer is Time Management & Goal Setting. Many highly successful persons are often asked what their secret to success is. And more often than not, they have the same response, and that is Goal Setting. However, although this is almost an expected response, many are still baffled at how Time Management really works.

Goal Setting is simply the proper allocation of time for certain tasks. First, the important tasks have to be arranged in a certain way where it is clustered into sectors and listed according to urgency and importance. For example, the important parts of your life are career, your daughter, your home, your art, and your family. You have to know which one to drop first whenever you need to do something.

After that, you will need help from some Productivity Tools designed to aid you in the correct process of prioritization AND remembering that order.

Quick-and-Easy Reminders

Goal Setting Tools & Time Management Techniques

There are a lot of persons who need lots of reminder when it comes to taking care of medium sized businesses. Often, they are too small that they are disregarded as unimportant. If you are one of them, buy some quick-and-easy teasers. What’s good about technology is you can probably put an alarm just about everywhere! Cellular phones nowadays have built-in organzing device of your choices, post-its are available in different sorts, and even the good old refrigerator door magnets have come in a lot of forms.

What is important is that the frequency of the reminding is now being increased. This is good for Time Management & Goal Setting because it keeps you aware of the things which you have to do especially if they’re urgent.

The organzing device of your choice + Watch Tandem

These are staples for just about every busybody from the college beadle to the corporate leader. The organizer is something that holds your appointments and it’s also a tiny little space for some writing. Busybodies usually have contact numbers of random people they meet, gifts for a not-so-relevant birthday party that he has to go to or some sudden brilliant ideas that come to mind. For these and more, you will need an organizer. It has to be a little agenda, just enough to fit in a small handbag, and should be made of durable material. You must bring your organzing device of your choice with you every day, in case you need to list something down as a reminder.

Moreover, the perfect complement to an organizer is a high-quality watch. You may have experienced running late for an appointment just because your watch didn’t work well.  What’s worse is that the person you’re meeting wouldn’t even believe you. This blunder can easily be avoided. Just get a high quality watch. Having a good sense of time is practically the first step in Productivity.

The Perfect mindset

It’s pressuring to know that you have a lot of things in your hand and it seems like you can’t even do anything about it. Don’t tip over.

Moreover, keep a be on your toes kind of manner of thinking as you maneuver your way into your busy life. Sure, there are times when you distance yourself from your organizing device of your choice. It is a painful reminder of the busy life they lead for some. It’s perfectly alright to feel some form of eternal urgency but take some time off once in a while. You must never neglect yourself in your list of tasks.

A Motivational Speaker Wonders: Is Your Brain Inhibiting Your Professional Growth?

As a motivational speaker and consultant, (during my keynote speeches) I often ask: How frequently do you become conscious of the side of your own nose? And, if you wear spectacles, when was the last time you were distracted by the frames? I have a sneaking suspicion that that your response to both these questions is: “not often”.

Actually – when you think about it – this observation is a bit surprising because both your nose and specs are well within your visual field. (My motivational speaker and training audience members are by and large extremely taken aback.) Which begs the issue, in view of the fact that they encroach upon your visual field, how come your nose and glasses don’t become a visual distraction? Here’s the answer: It’s because your brain blocks them out.

In fact, only a minuscule part of the immense amount of information picked up by your senses ever impinges on your awareness. Attempting to purposefully assess all this information would be as tough as attempting to catch the monthly rainfall in Seattle in a bucket the size of a thimble. Filtering out all the ‘unimportant’ data, including your nose and glasses, is a essential brain function.

So why – as an inspirational motivational speaker – did I bring this unusual visual phenomenon to your attention? Answer: Because it raises an crucial point. When it limits your outlook, does your brain also hamstring your effectiveness? Bottom line, a number of aspects of the brain sieve directly influence our productivity. Case in point, it makes our existing thought patterns still more all-encompassing. In this commentary I’m going to discuss a very important element of the brain sieve, how it tends towards the negative.

Your Pessimistic Point of View

The cerebral sieve lets the pessimistic aspects of a situation dominate your attention. If you still need proof of your tendency to focus on the negative, try the following simple experiment. (Incidentally I routinely suggest this exercise in my inspirational healthcare presentations.)

Draw a line down the center of a piece of paper. Then, each and every time you have a positive thought, draw a tick on one side of the line. Conversely, each and every time you have a depressing thought, mark a cross on the other side. Which side do you think you’ll fill up first? When subjects perform this exercise sincerely, they discover they’re far more pessimistic than they appreciated.

What we require is a wider outlook, the ability to catch sight of the optimistic aspects of a circumstance in order to make up for our natural tendency to be pulled towards the pessimistic. Why? It turns out that Psychologists have studied this trend extensively, and have discovered, time after time, that a positive viewpoint is linked with better results.

A Motivational Speaker’s Answer…

The next time a pessimistic reflection pops into your head, attempt these simple action steps:

Tip 1: Recognize the possibility that you’re not bearing in mind an similarly valid, more positive perspective.

Tip 2: Then, look at your situation from various points of view.

Tip 3: Ask yourself straightforward questions. Such as: Honestly, how awful this is problem really? Is it likely, I’ll even recall this annoyance in four years time?

In conclusion, being aware of your brain sieve will help you to get control of your emotions. Take control of your thinking and pay attention to what occurs. Take it from a motivational speaker, you’ll be surprised!

Procrastination Doesn’t Lead to Success

Be Proactive

Dreams are great springboards to success, but only if they lead to action.

Success doesn’t happen unless we take action.

Becoming a success and accomplishing your dreams requires hard work – and action. Don’t let what others might say keep you from starting. Realizing one’s dreams is an individual responsibility.

Thomas Edison is remembered as a great inventor, but before he succeeded, he invented a lot of things that failed. Abraham Lincoln is remembered as a great President, but before he became President, he failed in business multiple times. Even Babe Ruth struck out lots of times before he hit all his home runs.

We must take the initiative to make good things happen in our lives.

Pitchers were afraid to let the Babe bat, so they walked him many times – but we’re probably not nearly as talented and our competition is not afraid of us. Most of us don’t get things dropped in our laps, we have to work for them.

Don’t Procrastinate!

How many people do you know who’s frequent answer is “I’ll do it later”, when all they ever do is sit on the couch, snooze, or play golf (the “Round Tu-It” trap).

But taking action to realize goals?

Oh, no, “I’ll do it manana”.

Don’t waste your life sitting on the couch.

Your dreams are important to you, but the only way to realize them and realize success in life that you both want and deserve is to get up off the couch and take some action.

What could you do in the next five minutes to further you goals and put yourself on the path toward success and fulfillment in life?

Learn what Cats Know about Surviving Recessions

Cats are great at finding new sources of food and change their habits, is there something we can learn from them?

It seems like everybody has their own plan on how to survive the recession. Just some of the kind of stuff you’ll see across the Internet and blogosphere is advice like:

  1. Hang on to your job
  2. Move while others are distracted
  3. Earn extra money
  4. Squeeze that last drop of value from your home
  5. Refinance high interest credit cards
  6. Plan expenditure
  7. Haggle your way to savings
  8. Be thrifty and reduce your energy bills
  9. Avoid taking on any unnecessary debts

I really could go on to reach 99 just to represent the saying, “99 ways to skin a cat”. I’m sure you have more productive things to do with you time. Of course, you can Google it all yourself and find out what the all time experts: Tom, Dick and Harry have to say.

I will get straight to the point.

With so many ways to become rich, why do some fail with the same thing that others succeed with? Plenty of people reduce their spending and still fail to get rich? Did you know that often those with lower or no degrees have the more educated working for them? Most businesses fail within the first 4 years, why is that?

Because the secret is in HOW you go about being rich, not what you do. Cause while there are 99 ways to skin a cat, if you don’t do it RIGHT — whichever method you have chosen — it won’t bring RESULTS.

What is the formula for riches?

Bob Proctor has known the answer to this question and shown it to thousands, it’s now your turn. And he wants to tell you that there is a science — a formula — to get rich. It’s about doing certain things in a certain way. For centuries this blueprint has been proven to make anyone know how to get rich.

So before you waste your time trying out 99 ways blindly, get this one formula that will transform your financial future.

Do Reptiles Love?

Affirmations Tame Reptiles

If you were a reptile, could you love? What on earth? Given that you have a reptile in you, its very important to understand what that means. Yuck! This part of the brain is called the “limbic system” or the stem brain, but it’s from our reptile ancestry whatever you call it.

Think like a reptile for a moment, what would you fear, what would you be interested in? What feelings would the new thing bring up in you? I suppose reptiles feel only hunger, sex, self-preservation and fear.

Imagine you are still that reptile, and you see something new. How would you react? If it looked tasty, well chances are we’d try and eat it, or if it looked scary, we’d probably slither away.

Now step back into “you” again. How many times has your inner reptile made you react the same way? We live in the illusion that we are one thing, a human being. We did not evolve as one “unit”, over time many millions of parts combined to produce what we are today. Our brains are made up of three major parts, the stem or reptile brain, the mid-brain which deals with emotions and the rational brain. That’s just in our brain, but these LEGO set of life is in other parts of us too. Right inside our cells, we have DNA as everyone knows, but the DNA needs RNA to interact with the rest of the body. So in some sense DNA is “foreign” to the body. Even our cells evolved from different primitive ancestors too. All our genetic heritage is passed on from the female side generation after generation, in a part of the cell called the mitochondria. That raises some interesting questions!

Our being the sons and daughters of Eve is absolutely right. Go back only 6,000 generations and our DNA shows we all originated in Africa, from one single migration. That is just the blink of any eye, so really, we are all African. The difference genetically between any two humans is barely measurable. The chimpanzee, our nearest relative, is only 2-3% different from us genetically.

So what’s with the evolutionary tour? In the brain, our friend the limbic system on really cares about survival and not much else. In fact it is hardly aware of the other parts of the brain. It does not care or even understand being rich, happy or fulfilled. Survival. Nothing fancy, just survival only.

The subconscious is where the action is though. No one really knows which part of the brain it lives in, but it really does exist and much more importantly, it is where your accumulated beliefs live. Also, the subconscious does not understand negatives or have a sense of humor and is VERY literal in its interpretation of what you feed it.

The mid-brain has a richer emotional life and is aware far more than the limbic system, but it views life through an emotional lens. There goes the idea of the brain as a super computer. The cartoon of the logical brain is just not true. Thinking often acts more to stop action, that to prompt taking action.

Want an example, when you are at a store and the attendant comes over and starts to sell to you, if you are marginally keen, what’s the most common phrase people use? I’ll t____________ it.

Notice that interesting second word? Not a scrap of emotion there. Thought tends to lead to more thought. In case you did not remember the phrase, would you like to have it? I’ll think about it.

So in the end, we usually make emotional decisions and then justify them afterwards. Think what would happen if you asked someone why they bought product X over product Y. The decision was really made on which one they liked more. The features of the product did not make the decision, they were used as justifications afterwards. We had a series of “filters” or beliefs that made one choice way more “logical” for us than the other one. Guess what? Someone walked into the same store just after you did, and for them product Y was so obviously better than X, only a fool would by X. Which person is right? Neither or both. Choose either one. Both had beliefs about something that caused them to take action and buy something.

So what about our larger lives? What role do our beliefs play in our lives? If beliefs can prompt us to take action, they can also stop us from taking action too. Let’s say you have a strong belief that you can’t swim (forget the “because’s for the moment”) well first off, you can’t swim because you have a negative belief around swimming which you can justify with lots of reasons and secondly, because you believe that chances are you’ll stop yourself from learning to swim. The belief you can’t swim, means that you can’t swim!

Now let’s apply that to money. What a thought! The dreaded “M” word. The girls like a different word with “M” that scares boys, this one drives everyone crazy: Money. There are few subjects on which there are more experts than around money. Remember how “literal” minded the subconscious is. There are more opinions on money than about the weather or this year’s fashions. Frankly, there are probably more opinions about money than sex.

Why? Well, because money is an essential ingredient to living in the 21st century, it is the means by which we can live our large dreams and achieve the kind of freedom deep down we all believe we can have. Chances are up pops a belief saying why we do not deserve that life or cannot have it because (insert your reason here) or maybe because there is only a limited supply of wealth or some other idea. Ever heard the phrase the “filthy rich”? In that world, to be rich you have to by filthy. Who deep down really wants to be filthy if that’s what it takes to be rich. How’d you like to be a filthy person? You have to be that first, before being rich.

How about “money is the root of all evil”? That’s another common one. Bad is one thing, but evil is a whole different thing altogether. Being “bad” is breaking societies conventional rules and bad usually becomes good over time. Evil is deliberately and consciously setting out to harm others. Just reading that probably is scary. Imagine your reptile brain reacting to that one! That’s go danger written all over it, don’t you think?

It is our deepest, hidden beliefs that are guiding our lives. These beliefs are so familiar to us, that we are unaware of them. Yet, there they are guiding us with the precision of a laser bomb to our target. Do we end up with joy or sadness or worse? Whether your beliefs are explosive or not will show up in the results in your life, around money, relationships and health for instance. If you are interested in changing those beliefs for more productive ones, The Science of Getting Rich is about wealth in more than just financial terms. You can also check out The Power of Simplicity.

You see, our reptile brain is alive and well, so are all the other parts of us. In our emotions, in our feelings, our thoughts and above all in our subconscious beliefs. Imagine all of these aspects of you pulling in different directions, how will you get to where you want to go?

Emptying out the junk in our lives is called spiritual growth. Since spirit is perfect already, that is entirely another post.

Easy Ways To Turn Limiting Circumstances Into Success

The self-imposed barriers that we carry around with us are generally our biggest barriers to success. The word “can’t'” almost certainly equals failure. In fact you are more than likely to not even start typing. To be successful you are going to have to get your dictionary and cross out the word “can’t” from it, life will start to get better from there on in.

We often manage to persuade ourselves that our circumstances are a reason not to achieve success and that we can simply hide behind them as a good reason not to be, do and have everything that we desire. However the complete opposite should in fact be true. Viewing our current situations with honesty whether they be good or bad is enough for us to know that we do indeed create our own reality! That's the secret. Learn to use the power of positive thinking and optimism as Winston Churchill describes:

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”

If you are in what you consider a not so positive situation, take a look at how you got there. What thoughts and feelings were you having about your future a few months ago, what action were you taking to head in the right direction, did you even have written goals, were you associating with positive successful people? The chances are you will not have been doing any of those things as those are the types of things that help you create the events and circumstance in your life the way you want them.

So, when you look at your circumstances at this very moment, realize that you are responsible in the main part for making them and use this realization as renewed energy for you to develop the circumstances that you actually do want.

Now, instead of saying: “I can’t because… or I won’t succeed because…”State” I will be successful because…” and list all the resources that you have going for you, no matter how large or small, such as: past experience, time, help from others, ideas, motivations, good qualities, friends, visions for the future, financial resources, reasons to succeed and so on. Just doing this one easy thing will immediately aid you in busting through your negative poitn of view of your circumstances and help them become positive.

Have you ever noticed how once you make a decision to do something AND start to take action on it, no matter how ridiculous or ambitious or difficult it may have seemed a path seemingly opens up for you to walk down whereby out of nowhere you begin to gain the things that you need in order to succeed. As soon as you start to ignore your current situation and make a firm decision and make positive action then good things will start to happen, a way can always be found. Vince Lombardi, 1913-1970, Hall of Fame American Football Coach agrees:

“We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.”

More often than not successful people will not know how they are going to get somewhere or achieve a certain goal, all they will know however is that they will achieve it. Anybody can achieve this mindset for success.

“effort only releases itself full reward until after the person refuses to give in.” – Napoleon Hill, 1883-1970, American Speaker/Motivational Writer/Author of “Think and Grow Rich”

Just to summaries then, you create your circumstance and should therefore not see it as a limiting factor, make a decision, act on it and then persevere and persevere some more until you have reached your goal. Then repeat the procedure for your new goal, this type of positive thinking is beyond the secret and can and will work wonders for you. Bear in mind there are also many personal development products that you may wish to look to for help too.

Great audio books for business people

I know from experience, and from talking with other business colleagues that we are all serious about improving their business, sometimes just don't have the time to read and take courses.

And this is right where audio books have now started to play an incredible important role in our lives.

As a business person, you can now use the amazing value inherent in listening to audio books. Another huge benefit of audio books is that you never have to worry again about not having the time to finish, or having the will power to actually turn the pages of a book.

With an audio book you can enjoy the same value of any business book when preparing to go to work in the morning, when commuting to and fro work, etc.

If you are at loose for the specific business audio books to go for, below are 5 of some of the best that any business person shouldn’t do without listening to:

1. How to win friends and influence people – by Dale Carnegie

I don't know about you, but the most important aspect of my business is PEOPLE. For almost every endeavor of life, especially business, we need people to keep the business going.

5. Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap – by Jim Collins

Companies that have been around for years and years, are still around for a reason, they know what to do, and they have done it right.

The author has taken quite some time to collate the results from his extensive studies of companies who have had business success for many, many years - looking into what they are doing so right, that their counterparts are not.

The power of the information contained within this business audio book can help any business person to succeed.

I can guarantee that the five audio books I have selected (and have listened to in-depth myself) can really boost both your career and your business if you are willing to apply what you learn from them.

How I learnt to speak French in 3 months from audio books

Of course, I was taught French during my school days but never took it seriously. As far as I was concerned, it wasn't important to be and would never be.

After all, English was more popular and I could get along anywhere in the world with my knowledge of English language, right?

How dead wrong I was.

I realized my mistake when I was sent to France for an assignment. I was like a real fish out of water.

Literally everywhere I went, restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, offices, transport - everyone was speaking French. Locating someone who could speak English was like locating someone in England who could speak Chinese.

Whew, I really felt lost.

That experience nonetheless, I still made a silent resolve not to learn the language, since I wasn't going to be coming back to France.

But on getting back home, my boss told me I would be going back in 3 months. Not only that, but this time I would be staying for much longer than the last time.

I argued, begged and pleaded, but she was having none of it.

Right that second I made the decision to make sure I had learned French before those three short months were over.

Being a lover of audio books, I went right ahead and bought some “Teach yourself French” foreign language audio books which I played while preparing for work in the morning, while exercising, during my commute to and from work and any other time when my hands were busy but my mind was free.

To be honest, I didn't really pay too much attention to the "Teach yourself French" lessons in the beginning, because it was all very strange to me.

But as time went on, it all started to make sense. What really helped was the translations to English for any word spoken in French.

It definitely confirmed the theory I had read some time ago about how powerful listening can really be. No wonder God gave us 2 ears and just one mouth. This means just listening is powerful enough to learn virtually any language.

You wouldn't believe it but gradually I picked up and was able to speak some amount of French just 6 weeks after.

Can you just imagine the look on my superior's face, when I spoke to her completely in French without even mixing it a little with English!

She couldn't believe it and asked me how I was able to do it. I told her - audio books!

My superior was so amazed and impressed that I had taken the time to learn the language, that she promoted me to the head of delegation for the next trip we had planned to France. I was going to represent our entire company.

She made sure every other member of my team got their foreign language audio books and did exactly what I had done.

When I eventually got back to France 3 months later, I was no longer "a fish out of water".

It was fantastic, and I was amazed that I had been able to do this without hiring a tutor, going to college or night school, or even reading any French tutorial books.

All of this was possible within 3 months just listening to French audio book lessons.

Do you know what was most intriguing about this? I did this all in my "free" time. There were no extra committments of time needed from me, I just used the same time that I had wasted in the past.

Now, if I could do this within just three months, I am absolutely certain that anyone else can do it too.

I can honestly say that if there is any foreign language that you are itching to learn, do exactly as I did and you'll be amazed by the results in just three months, simply from the power of audio books.

There are several audio book versions of many books on learning foreign languages that you can get on the Internet.

You can start your search from SpokenNetwork.com directly or via the search engines. You just need to type in the phrase or title of the book that you are interested in, and you'll be given a whole host of results… within seconds.

Coach Your Downline Recruits and Teach Them How to Succeed with Internet Marketing

Many people in affiliate programs seem to think that once the sale is made, their work is done.Affiliates depend upon successful downlines if they want to make a lot of money.Don’t end your involvement with the close of the initial sale; stay involved with your downline coaching and mentoring them.

People joining affiliate programs tend to have big goals and dreams , but sometimes they fail anyway.

Reasons Why People Fail to Become Successful Affiliates:

There are three main reasons why people fail to adapt to change, especially technological change:

  1. Lack of Skills
  2. Lack of Knowledge
  3. Fear

Adopt the “Coach” Role & Mindset:

If you adopt the mindset of a “Coach,” you can dramatically improve your Downline’s performance along all three lines.

When someone joins a successful affiliate program there is generally a fairly big learning curve to overcome – new product(s) such as the Infinite Income Plan , new technology, virtual relationships, especially if your new recruit is new to the world of internet marketing, or marketing in general.Internet marketing, like any industry, has its own set of jargon, and the affiliate program will have its own set of tolls and techniques to master.

New recruits can get very frustrated til they’ve mastered everything they need to learn if you don’t help them through that initial learning curve. If you want your bottom line to grow, invest in helping your new recruits overcome the learning curve so they don’t get overly frustrated and just quit.

Wouldn’t you be a lot better off to spend a little time with your new Downline members helping them to get off to a good start?Be proactive: actively help your team learn the products, and learn about the technical support and other resources available to them.

You’ll also need to spend time helping them learn how to market in this new Web 2.0 internet world of Blogs and Social Networks, which are unfamiliar to many.

You can take a passive stance, and hope that new recruits will contact you when they need help – or, you can be more proactive, and contact them to make sure that they have the knowledge and skills that they need to perform the tasks being asked of them.  Your initiative and personal contact will go a long way toward minimizing the fear, and especially, the “buyer’s remorse” that they might be feeling as they start this new venture.

Coaching is realy just an attitude and a desire to build up the other person. coupled with proactive behaviors on your part.A small investment of your time to coach your downline will repay you many times over.
