Baseball is really something else. It is a game essential to someone’s life. Popularized by heroes that are admired and idolized, these exceptional individuals are none other than the great Babe Ruth, Ty cob, and Yogi Berra who serves as the backbone of this institution. An institution the humanity came to love. And today is one of the most esteemed sports the world had ever seen.
Although right now, ball players are plague with negative criticism from the use of performance enhancers. An Organization called MLB short for Major League Baseball is confronted to eradicate the steroid issue of the sport. The MLB’s strategy is to conduct massive drug tests for steroid signs to all players. The organization will do this test in a random procedure to avoid a corrupt process.
Steroids also called as performance enhancers, illegal substance, and they improve a person’s ability to increase abilities and develop an athletes figure. Uses of these substances are most common in sports and body building. The advantages of these drugs are amplified muscle growth, strength, and stamina. There is the possibility of development in the athletes’ skills and alertness.
There are also known shortcoming from performance enhancers. Substance misuse for one can create a feeling of intolerable rage. There are some effects in the improper use of this substance that are worst like sleeplessness, loss of hair, hallucination, and dizziness. Possibilities of cancer and heart problems are also a major concern. These drugs can be detected inside the body for a long period of time if used regularly.
Baseball players consume this substances or performance enhancer regularly to keep up with their game. It is believed that the batters can hit the ball accurately because of improved vision from the affect of these drugs. There are speculations that almost three fourths of the baseball league uses steroids. These performance enhancers have been widely seen in locker rooms of athletes, and had been an ordinary habit for players. It is very alarming to know that baseball players are very dependent on these substances
The earliest sign in using these substances in sports was during the 1950’s World Lifting Championship and soon evolved to baseball. The MLB was the last amongst the major sports organization that executed a complete steroid testing policy. This rule all started when a baseball player was seized for possessing nutritional supplements that contained signs of prohormones and Androstendione. Since then the MLB became stricter relating to drug induced substances particularly steroids and performance enhancer. Up to this date baseball players are still found with traces of such drugs in their body.
The major concern about this problem is the sole reputation of the game and the players’ standings. The bad influence they present to children and individuals, inspiring to become a ball player. The MLB must put forth more effort in eliminating the use of these substances. The future of the game we adore and love hangs by a thread. These baseball players who are idolized and considered as heroes must learn to change and promote fairness in the game. And soon learn that there is no substitute for proper exercise and training in this sport.
